A happy mayor.

At the Science Center, finally.
The long trek across Los Angeles is now over for Space Shuttle Endeavour. It reached it's final destination late this afternoon at the California Science Center. Thousands of residents lined up on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. to watch the shuttle zig and zag down the road. Many locals cheered as the shuttle cleared light standards and trees.

South Central Trees Get The Chop

Over 400 trees, many in South Central LA, will get the chop this week. The Space Shuttle Endeavour is expected to need to the extra room to maneuver through out the city. Many of the lovely aged trees will have to be cut down to stumps so the Shuttle may reach it's final destination at Exposition Park.
The trees will be replaced with saplings at a rate of 4 to 1 for now, but it will take up to 25 years for the trees to mature and provide the visual grandeur of the prior trees, if they make it that long.
