Car Wreck at Getty House

Was driving by the L.A. Mayor's residence, Getty House in Windsor Square, yesterday and saw this car wreck out front. 6th street was shut down for a block due to the accident.
Didn't get any official word on what happened, was on my way to another assignment. Looks like someone ran a red light.
Mayor Garcetti was not involved.

Getty House Tagged

The Getty House, the official residence for the mayor of Los Angeles, was tagged on the 6th Street side.
Noticed it on my way home this evening. A couple more Windsor Square homes, next to the Getty House, were also tagged with the same markings.

LA Parking Day

LA Mayor Eric Garcetti held meetings with local east side residents on First Street.
His make-shift office, a former parking spot, featured live grass along fancy lamps and seating in the waiting area.
Parking Day is celebrated nation wide and started back in 2005. Several parking spots around the city are turned in to art installations and make-ship rest areas.

Mayoral Inaugural for Eric Garcetti

LA welcomes it's 42nd Mayor, Eric Garcetti, today. In a short but fun ceremony, Moby performed an original song, "We Are All Made of Stars."
The oath was delivered by a LA Student in the eight grade, Kenia Castillo, who Garcetti met when she 4 years old at a rally for better working conditions for janitors.
The new members of the LA City Council were also swore in and had a group hug afterwards.

This Week in Los Angeles City Beat 12-20-07

This week in LA City Beat. They ran a nice portrait of LA City Councilman Eric Garcetti of the 13th District taken by me back in 2004. I photographed him in the main hallway on the first floor of historic LA City Hall.
They wrote about how nice of a guy he is. He really is a nice guy and a pleasure to photograph.
