Baby Trump Flies @ LA City Hall

A "Baby Trump" balloon flies at Los Angeles City Hall during a Prop 10 rally. The balloon is a licenced replica of the original balloon that was created in the UK earlier this year,

Happy 90th LA City Hall

Los Angeles City Hall turns 90 years old today. The iconic structure opened back in 1928 with a three day long celebration.
Made this montage proof-sheet image back in 1990, using one roll of bulk rolled 35mm Kodak Tri-X black and white film.
The bottom left frame is my favorite. It shows a homeless man asleep on the great lawn.
The homeless issue has still not been addressed by the politicians of this beautiful structure.

Thousands March in Support of DACA

Thousands of "Dreamers" and supporters of the DACA act march through downtown Los Angeles. The Trump administration rescinded the DACA act earlier in the day leaving 800,000 recipients in limbo until congress decides what to do with their status.
The march started at Olvera Street and ended at LA City Hall.

Four Years Ago in LA

Four years ago, Occupy LA set up camp at city hall.
Then city councilman Eric Garcetti welcomed them to stay as long as they like and that the city will support the cause.
Two months later, hundreds of LAPD would forcible remove the occupiers from the city hall grounds.

Mayoral Inaugural for Eric Garcetti

LA welcomes it's 42nd Mayor, Eric Garcetti, today. In a short but fun ceremony, Moby performed an original song, "We Are All Made of Stars."
The oath was delivered by a LA Student in the eight grade, Kenia Castillo, who Garcetti met when she 4 years old at a rally for better working conditions for janitors.
The new members of the LA City Council were also swore in and had a group hug afterwards.

Same-Sex Marriages Resume in California

Jeff Zarillo and Paul Katami were married today at LA City Hall. They are the first same-sex couple in Los Angeles to be married since the Supreme Court ruled Proposition 8 to be unconstitutional. Jeff and Paul were also plaintiffs in the lawsuit over same-sex marriages along with Kris Perry and Sandy Stier who were also married earlier today in San Francisco.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa presided over the wedding which was held on his last day as Mayor of LA.
