Park Shooting

While having dinner at home, I heard 5 to 6 shots go off at Queen Anne Park near my place. A couple of hundred children were playing a minor league baseball game, as a gunman wearing a hoodie ran up and shot three people with a large black gun. The shooting victims were transported by ambulance, one male victim was in bad shape with a couple of bullet wounds to his back.
Several children were badly shaken up as they saw the shooting take place right in front of them.

LA City Hall

I took a break from covering the LA City budget meeting inside the Council Chambers, and took a quick walk around the rotunda area of the great hall. What a fantastic building to explore.
Here are some photos.

Super Moon

Tried to get an unique shot of the super moon this evening, didn't really work out, L.A. has too many too buildings in the way. Wanted to get the L.A. Chinatown dragons with moon. At least I got a nice shot of one of the dragons. Shot the super moon on the back steps of my place.

May Day in Los Angeles

Thousands of Angeleno's took to the streets of downtown Los Angeles to celebrate May Day.
The peaceful marches were heavily watched and patrolled by L.A.P.D. officers.

Marchers trample across Rep. John Boehner's face.

American Apparel employees had the day off and took to the streets.

Greed and corruption on the corner of Broadway and Olympic.

The L.A. Times was completely surrounded by L.A.P.D. officers.
