Saturday Night Nitro

This spring's Saturday Nitro event ran a complete gamut of emotions for everyone involved. 

There was Mendy Fry emerging again with her Funny Car the Darkside win and setting a PR in speed. 

Joe Walla was there entertaining the fans and race teams. 

Sadly a great driver and stalwart of the sport, "Rapid" Roger Garten of the War Horse Top Fuel Funny Car, died last night from injuries during a wreck at the track. 

May Roger rest in peace.

March Meet @ Auto Club Famoso Raceway

Somewhere just past Buck Owens Blvd. and Merle Haggard Drive, yes there are streets named after these fine folks, is drag racing's nirvana, the Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA.

The March Meet at the Auto Club Famoso Raceway which features the best of classic and vintage dragster and funny car racing started this Friday. It's all about chrome, rubber, nitro, 1320 ft, and speed.

Some of the people spotted at this year's meet were, Mendy Fry, Leah Pruett, Roland Leong, and Joe Walla.
