No Justice No Peace 2017

A photo I took back during the Los Angeles riots of 1992 now hangs on a banner fairly close to the place I snapped the image.
The image is of a young kid standing in front of a burned down building on W. Adams Blvd. in South Los Angeles. The banner is for an exhibit at the California African American Museum in Los Angeles titled "No Justice No Peace LA 1992."
I have some images featured in the exhibition.

100 Days

A peace rally calling for the end of gang violence in South Los Angeles was held in Hawthorne, CA. The rally was held in response to a long weekend of gang shootings in South Los Angeles. The hashtag 100days100nights is being circulated in social media by possible warring gangs promising 100 days and 100 nights of violence.
LAPD's South Bureau was put on tactical alert after the shootings. The city of LA is experiencing a rise in violent crimes this year.
The rally was held in the city of Hawthorne due to safety concerns to the rally participants which included several parents of children killed by gang violence in South Los Angeles.
