Manzanar
Drove by Manzanar on my way up to photograph the fall color of the Eastern Sierra Mountain Range, saw the giant guard tower and made a point of photographing it on the way back home to LA.
The tower stands directly in front of the 14,389 foot Mt Williamson, making it California's second highest and the nations's sixth highest peak.
Both appeared formidable to me, and probably to those who where imprisoned at Manzanar during the Second World War.
Got lucky as the sun broke through some hazy clouds and lit the top area of the craggy peak.

Three Wheel Motion For "Flipside"
A red lowlow throws up some three wheel motion in front of the Macedonia church where services for "Flipside" where held.
Kevin "Flipside" White 44 was slain earlier in the week in an unprovoked shooting, along with Markice Delshawn Brider 29, in Watts.
Shootings between rival gangs in Nickerson Gardens and Jordan Downs have been on a recent rise, after a major lull during the last 10 years.
"Flipside" was a founding member of Watts' first major rap label hip hop recording act, O.F.T.B. (Operation From The Bottom).

LA Parking Day
LA Mayor Eric Garcetti held meetings with local east side residents on First Street.
His make-shift office, a former parking spot, featured live grass along fancy lamps and seating in the waiting area.
Parking Day is celebrated nation wide and started back in 2005. Several parking spots around the city are turned in to art installations and make-ship rest areas.
