SpaceX West Coast Night Launch
A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from Vandenberg AFB near Ventura, CA. The early evening launched was made spectacular by high altitude sunlight reflecting the rocket's gases over Los Angeles. I used a Canon DSLR with a 100-400mm zoom lens.
ISO was 6400 and exposures were 1/80s @ f.4.5.
Camera was handheld.

LA Fire Print
Just finished printing of one of my favorite photos, "LA Fire."
This image was featured on two hit television shows, "The Closer" and "Major Crimes." It was shot as I attempted to drive down Topanga Blvd during a Santa Ana wind driven brush fire back in October 2008.
I quickly realized that I wouldn't make it through due to heavy sideways blowing flame, so I reversed my car stopping for a brief moment to shoot this image through my front windshield.
The final image is printed at a giant 60"x40" inches, and was produced and printed by the print masters of A&I Photo in North Hollywood, CA. It's definitely a statement piece. Only 10 prints will be produced for sale.
Contact me via email or IM if interested in purchasing one of these impressive prints.

Happy 90th LA City Hall
Los Angeles City Hall turns 90 years old today. The iconic structure opened back in 1928 with a three day long celebration.
Made this montage proof-sheet image back in 1990, using one roll of bulk rolled 35mm Kodak Tri-X black and white film.
The bottom left frame is my favorite. It shows a homeless man asleep on the great lawn.
The homeless issue has still not been addressed by the politicians of this beautiful structure.

LA River Water Falls
Photographed some waterfalls in the LA River today caused by the latest rain storm.
Used my old Canon Mark 2 camera with a $50 dollar zoom lens, they are used mostly to cover wild fires. Leaning up against the fencing along the river, I was able to shoot long 1/2 second exposures of water falling in to the LA River. The long exposures accentuated the blue in the sky on the normally brownish river water. Some of the colors in the water came out supernatural and creamy looking.

WeHo Jesus
The man known as "West Hollywood Jesus" has just passed away from an undisclosed illness, according to his family. "West Hollywood Jesus" was well known to many LA area folks as a kind and friendly person. He always had time to take a selfie and pass on a kind word to folks.
