Queen Mary Turns 80

The grand ship, the Queen Mary, turned 80 years old today.
A giant 15 foot long 600 pound ship cake was made in her honour.
The ship was open to the public fee free all day for the festivities.

Phil Spector Then and Now

Here are Phil Spector's latest mugshot just released by the California Department of Corrections.
He is serving a life sentence in prison for the murder of Lana Clarkson back in 2003.
The other two images were shot during his trial back in 2007. Seems so long ago.

Gordo the Dog

Gordo the dog was released from the City of Angels Veterinary Hospital yesterday. Gordo was hit and run over by a van during a high-speed police chase in South Los Angeles. He underwent emergency surgery to save his hind legs that were nearly severed by the rims of the van.
The vets did a great job and saved young Gordo, who can now gingerly walk.
The driver of the van that hit Gordo was charged with felony evading, vehicle theft, driving recklessly, and felony hit-and-run for running over Gordo.
Gordo's plight became national news and people all over the county donated money to saving him. The money that wasn't used for the surgery will either be returned or donated to the Culver City Police K-9 unit.

Stanley Cup Visits LAFD Station 59

Lord Stanley's Cup paid a visit to LAFD station 59 in Century City this afternoon.
Firefighters and their families had the opportunity to take their photo with the cup, which was last won by the 2014 Los Angeles Kings.
Several lucky firefighters got to try on a 2014 LA Kings Championship ring which was made by Tiffanys.
