This Week in Los Angeles City Beat 12-20-07
This week in LA City Beat. They ran a nice portrait of LA City Councilman Eric Garcetti of the 13th District taken by me back in 2004. I photographed him in the main hallway on the first floor of historic LA City Hall.
They wrote about how nice of a guy he is. He really is a nice guy and a pleasure to photograph.

Farmer's Insurance TV Commercial
Farmer's Insurance Company ran a television commercial, "They Were There, People" featuring my photo of a LA County firecopter doing a water drop on a wild fire in Malibu. The commercial "recognizes extraordinary efforts of remarkable individuals", people who fought the California wild fires of 2007. Chicken Boy in the HLP
Was driving up Fig the other day and saw the "Chicken Boy" statue atop a building. Thought it was a new chicken in a bucket food stop. Nope, just some new fancy art project and gallery messing up mi barrio.
They are calling it "the statue of liberty of Los Angeles."
I just wanted a bucket of chicken.
Thank God for Filliero's Pizza next door at 5566 n. Figueroa Ave 323 254-0505 to save the day. It's the best pizza on the east side for sure!

Barack Obama Fundraiser at the Gibson
President hopeful US Senator Barack Obama D-IL. came to Los Angeles for a fundraiser in his honor. The fundraiser featured musical acts Ne-Yo and the Goo Goo Dolls. Mr. Obama spoke after the concert about why he wants to become president of the United States. He also spoke his his mother's losing battle with cancer and how she fought in vain with her insurance companies for help. Mr. Obama also vowed if elected to get every US citizen the same quality health care he receives as a US Senator.

President Jimmy Carter
Got an assignment to photograph President Jimmy Carter for the LA City Beat. It was very cool to meet him. Had to catch him between building houses for Habitat for Humanity. Yes, he does the hard stuff hammering sawing and he carries his own 2x4's.
